Zhenjiang Xinglong Harbor Area is located at the southeast of Zhenjiang Yangzhong Economy Development Zone. It's one of new harbor areas planned by Zhenjiang municipal government and is invested and constructed by Zhejiang Yingdu Group. The harbor has totally 6 berths for ships from 30,000-ton to 80,000-ton and occupies coastline of 2000m. The annual handling capacity of the first phase is designed to be 12.5 million tons mainly for steel, electromechanical equipment and coals, with two berths for 50,000-ton ships and the first phase covers a land area of 372,200 sq.m., occupying coastline of 500 meters and extending 800-850m to land, with total investment of 400 million Yuan.
Zhenjiang Harbor, capable of river-sea throught transport, is an integrated harbor on the downstream of the Yangtze River and an important open harbor in the Yangtze River Delta Region as well. Located at the meeting point of the Yangtze River and the Grand Canal, this harbor has geographic and regional advantages and superior distributing conditions. Based on the existing Zhenjiang harbor area, the construction of Xinglong Harbor Area will further enlarge Zhenjiang Harbor's capacity, promote the service function, release the conflict between the rapid increase in cargo shipping and severe shortage in handling ability of the existing public berths, and serve the economy development of Zhenjiang and other along-river regions. |
